The Mississipi Valley State Delta Devils go on the road looking for the upset of the Northwestern Wildcats.

If you have followed Mississippi Valley State you know they schedule some tough competition in preparation of their conference slate but that isn't conducive to winning as their 1-7 record tells us. The Delta Devils have been outscored 86-60 and a 74-50 loss at Oregon State on Wednesday didn't help their situation. The Beavers opened a 12 point lead at the break and never looked back with 39.7% shooting outdistancing the Delta Devils 29.5% while a 19-6 edge at the line put the game out of reach. Jordan Washington paced Mississippi Valley State with 17 points on 6-9 fom the field including four bombs while DeAngelo Priar added 14 points and ten rebounds with Isaac Williams netting nine points.

Northwestern Wildcats vs. Miss Valley State Delta Devils - 12/14/14 College Basketball Pick, Odds, and Prediction

USA TODAY Sports

The Northwestern Wildcats began 2014-15 with five consecutive victories before dropping three in a row although losing to Northern Iowa, Georgia Tech and Butler aren't embarassing defeats. The Wildcats are coming off a 65-56 loss at Butler where they struggled to score on 40.7% and defend with the Bulldogs connecting at 49%. A good chunk of the Bulldogs offense came at the stripe where they turned 26 personals into a 16-6 advantage. Brian McIntosh netted 12 points and handed out five helpers followed by the duo of Alex Olah and And Vic Law who combined for 21 points and ten rebounds. The Wildcats needed a bit more scoring from one or two players to have legitimate chance at winning.

The Delta Devils are 3-0-1 ATS in their last 4 games following a ATS loss while going 2-6-1 ATS in their last 9 games vs. a team with a winning S.U. record. MVSU are 1-3-1 ATS in their last 5 road games and 2-6-1 ATS in their last 9 road games vs. a team with a winning home record. The Wildcats are 2-5 ATS in their last 7 games vs. a team with a losing S.U. record and are 1-4 ATS in their last 5 games following a ATS win. Northwestern are 1-7 ATS in their last 8 home games vs. a team with a road winning % of less than .400 and are 0-7 ATS in their last 7 home games. I think Northwestern controls this came and covers if they go hard for 40 minutes...
