The Mabee Center and the Oral Roberts Golden Eagles host the Missouri State Bears in Monday action.
The Missouri State Bears seem to be finding their stride in the early going with wins in three of four. The Bears have shown some scoring ability and stopping power on defense and put both together in a 73-62 victory at Southeast Missouri State on Saturday as a four points underdog. A 45 point burst over the final 20 minutes rallied the Bears from a four point deficit although the boxscore says this was a closer contest with MSU holding a slight 41.5%-39.7% shooting edge. The difference was a 12-19 perfomance from beyond the arc with a trio of double digit scorers. Marcus Marshall tossed in a game high 21 points and grabbed eight boards followed by a 19 point effort from Gavin Thurman while Austin Ruder netted 16 points with five yanks.

The Oral Roberts Golden Eagles have yet to get going through seven games with neither end of the floor standing out. The Golden Eagles might be ready to put a run together with wins in two of three after outscoring New Mexico State 86-83 Saturday behind a 54 point second half explosion. The Golden Eagles defense was touched for 49% from the floor but their 56% marksmanship and four more makes at the charity stripe were just enough overcome a good shooting team who totaled nine more shots. Oral Roberts received a contest best 24 points from Obi Emegano with Korey Billbury right on his heels with a 21 point, five pull effort. Denell Henderson and Aaron Young tallied eleven and nine points with Henderson snagging eight rebounds.
The Bears are 4-10 ATS in their last 14 games following a ATS win while going 6-22 ATS in their last 28 non-conference games. Missouri State are 1-4 ATS in their last 5 games following a S.U. win and are 1-4 ATS in their last 5 games vs. a team with a losing S.U. record. The olden Eagles are 5-13 ATS in their last 18 games following a S.U. win and are 3-8 ATS in their last 11 home games vs. a team with a losing road record. Oral Roberts are 3-9 ATS in their last 12 games following a ATS win and 1-4 ATS in their last 5 games vs. a team with a winning % above .600. Neither team is a cover machine with the Bears 1-6 ATS and ORU 3-4 versus the number. These teams meet again in a few weeks so I say the Golden Eagles need this one at home...
