The Grambling State Tigers make a trip to the northwest to face the Oregon State Beavers on Monday.
The Grambling State Tigers are predicted to challenge for a middle of the row spot in the SWAC but if that is to happen both ends of the floorneed better production. The Tigers are being outscored 74-48 which is why they are 2-5. The Tigers picked up their second victory of the season by a 74-64 count versus sub division Selma. Grambling State defended well with 37.7% shooting allowed although their own shooting wasn't dominant at 41.8%. This was won at the line with the Tigers owning a 20-11 advantage. A'Torri Shine pumped in a game high 28 points with five yanks on 8-13 from the floor while Mark Gray scored 15 points and hauled in 12 rebounds.
I'm not sure where Oregon State fits in the PAC 12 but despite their 6-2 record more scoring will be needed as the conference slate gets underway. Things are good for the time being as the Beavers won number three in a row after a 59-49 decision over visiting Mississippi State on Saturday. The slow pace and 34.7% accuracy by the Bulldogs was perfect for OSU who connected at 37% but had ten more looks thanks to 17 Mississippi State turnovers. Jarmel Reid and Gary Payton II led a balanced Beavers offense with 13 points apiece with Payton grabbing eight rebounds. Langston Morris-Walker followed with ten points while Malcolm Duvivier netted seven points and posted five assists.
The Tigers are 7-2 ATS in their last 9 games overall while going 6-2 ATS in their last 8 road games and Tigers are 5-2 ATS in their last 7 road games vs. a team with a winning home record. The Beavers are 4-0 ATS in their last 4 games vs. a team with a winning % below .400 and 4-0 ATS in their last 4 home games vs. a team with a road winning % of less than .400. Oregon State are 5-0 ATS in their last 5 games vs. a team with a losing S.U. record and are 4-0 ATS in their last 4 games overall. The sprread seems about right although it's scary with a slow paced Oregon State perhaps eating to much clock. However I think it'e Beavers or nothing...
