University Center and the Mercer Bears welcome the Dartmouth Big Green to town Tuesday.
The Dartmouth Big Green aren't given much of a chance in the Ivy League and in my view if you are not a contender in this conference you are a spoiler. The Big Green average around 65 points and I think they would bevery dangerous if that average is pushed to around 70. A two game winning streak came to an end in a 79-67 road loss to Jacksonville State Sunday. The Gamecocks took a 13 point lead after 20 minutes as a three point home dog and combined 42% shooting with a 30-14 edge at the stripe to down the 44.6% shooting Big Green. Gabus Maldunas poured in a contest best 27 points and grabbed ten boards while Alex Mitola and Connor Boehm tossed in 13 and ten points respectively.

The Mercer Bears first season in the SoCon will be a feeling out process with so many teams playing varied styles. The Bears are staying above water at 5-4 with consecutive victories following a 90-82 win ovr new conference member VMI. The Keydets got the pace fast like they like it but it didn' have any effect on the Bears marksmen who connected at 51%wich they needed because VMI hit at 37% and mustered 13 more attempts. Mercer had a +25 rebounding edge and sank 13 more free throws so they would have won by more save for 15 turnovers. All five starters reached double figures in scoring with Phillip Leonard and Ike Nwamu netting 18 points apiece with Darius Moten right on their heels with 17 points and seven boards. Jibri Bryan followed with a 15 point, ten rebound performance while TJ Hallice added ten points and seven yanks.
The Big Green are 3-7 ATS in their last 10 road games while going 8-20-3 ATS in their last 31 games following a S.U. loss. Dartmouth are 8-20-1 ATS in their last 29 non-conference games and are 3-9-1 ATS in their last 13 games overall. The Bears are 2-6-2 ATS in their last 10 home games vs. a team with a road winning % of less than .400 and are 0-3-1 ATS in their last 4 home games and 0-3-1 ATS in their last 4 home games vs. a team with a losing road record. Mercer can score and defend which in my eyes gives them an edge versus Dartmouth who can't be overlooked here however...
