The Catamounts are coming off of an 84-64 loss at Minnesota where the Golden Gophers went on a 45-26 second half run to win going away. Minnesota burned the nets at over 57% which was too much firepower for the 46% shooting Catamounts who also gave the ball away 23 times. By most accounts the Vanderbilt Commodores will have a great season if they finish somewhere in the middle of the SEC standings. If they continue to score and defend as they have in building a 6-2 record that's not out of the realm of possibility. The Commodores are hopng to build on the momentum of an 81-71 decision over visiting Purdue on Saturday. Vandy led by eleven at the break and played the Boilermakers even over the final 20 minutes. The defense allowed 47% shooting but the offense more then made up for it with 58% from the field including a 9-14 performance from distance. Riley LaChance pumped in a game high 26 points on 9-13 shooting followed by a 15 point, five yank effort from Damian Jones. James Siakam tossed in 12 and Matthew Fisher-Davis chipped in with nine points.
The Catamounts are 3-8 ATS in their last 11 games following a ATS loss. The Commodores are 20-8 ATS in their last 28 Tuesday games and 2-6 ATS in their last 8 vs. Southern. Vanderbilt are 0-4-2 ATS in their last 6 home games vs. a team with a road winning % of less than .400 and are 0-4 ATS in their last 4 home games vs. a team with a losing road record. Vanderbilt has scoring ability and can defend. However Western Carolina can score and if the Commodores fall asleep on D the Catamounts will put up enough points to cover...
