The Cal State Bakersfield Roadrunners visit the Utah State Aggies in late Thursday action.
The Cal State Bakersfield Roadrunners only allow 65 points on 39% shooting so when you see their 1-8 record you obviously know that scoring has been a big issue. The offense continued to struggle in 65-59 at Portland State where the defense played well with the Vikings held to 41.7% from the floor. CSB countered with only 30% accuracy and gave the ball away 15 times yet still posted 12 more looks which was neutralized by their shooting woes. Aly Ahmed paced the attack with 18 points and eight pulls on 5-9 shooting with Cortez Connors adding 15 points on 5-9 from the floor with three bombs. Javonte Maynor tossed in eleven points but no other player managed more then six points.

The Utah State Aggies began the season 3-0 before dropping four straight with their defense performing well in winning and not so much in defeats. That trend continued in a 50-47 victory over Utah Valley on Saturday. The Wolverines were held to a mere 29% from the field but the Aggies didn't take advantage with 29.8% marksmanship. USU was saved at the stripe where an 18-12 edge was decisive. Jalen Moore led the Aggies offense with 14 points and seven rebounds but was 2-9 from the field. Chris Smith followed with 13 points and five yanks with Julion Pearre netting eleven points on 3-5 and was 2-2 from beyond the arc. The Aggies played an eight man rotation and two failed to score despite a combined 38 minutes of floor time.
The Aggies are 7-1-1 ATS in their last 9 home games vs. a team with a road winning % of less than .400 and are 4-1 ATS in their last 5 home games while going 23-6 ATS in their last 29 games vs. a team with a winning % below .400. Utah State are 20-8-1 ATS in their last 29 non-conference gamesand are 38-16-1 ATS in their last 55 games vs. a team with a losing S.U. record. The Roadrunners don't have many trends to go on because they have seldom been lined. I would be careful here as I see Utah State winning but they certainly aren't impressive...
