The UC Irvine Anteaters have shown the potential to score and defend and have decent numbers at both ends of the floor but their problem has been getting both on the same page. This game was played in the half court with UCI shooting a lights out 55% with Bears countering with 48% with the Anteaters costing themselves opportunities with 17 giveaways. The Bradley Braves are in dire need of some offensive punch because their 61 points won't be competitive once the Missouri Valley begins play. The defense is very good with less then 60 points allowed but like in any sport you have to score to win at some point. The Braves got a break in their schedule with sub division Eureka in town Thursday and padded their stats in an 80-38 rout. BU were up 17 at the break and were never challenged with the Red Devils held to 29% from the floor with 21 turnovers. The Braves sank shots at a season high 56% and dominated the backboards 44-26 with four players scoring in double figures. Tramique Sutherland scored 17 points, grabbed nine boards and posted six assists with Austin Barnes adding 14 points. Ka'Darryl Bell and Josh Cunningham followed with 12 and ten points with Cunningham snagging ten rebounds.
The Anteaters are 1-4-1 ATS in their last 6 games overall and 1-4-1 ATS in their last 6 non-conference games. The Braves are 3-0-2 ATS in their last 5 games following a SU win of more than 20 points and 7-16 ATS in their last 23 games vs. a team with a losing S.U. record. Bradley are 3-9-1 ATS in their last 13 games following a S.U. win and are 5-15-1 ATS in their last 21 neutral site games. In my view the Anteaters are better then Bradley but by how much is the question and I think the chalk is to much...
