The Murray State Racers look for a road win against the Southern Illinois Salukis at SIU Arena Monday.
The Murray State Racers are one of the favorites in the Ohio Valley and they are looking as if they are in mid season form. The Racers are riding one of the bigger scoring offenses at 78 points to six consecutive victories with over 80 points scored in the last five. The Racers are coming off of an 89-77 win over visiting Illinois State where the exploded for 52 second half points that erased a five point deficit going in to the locker room. The Redbirds hit at 41% from the field which which was no match for the Racers 57% which accounted for five more field goals. Jarvis Williams led the scoring with 21 points and eight boards with Cameron Payne netting 20 points with five assists followed by a 14 point, seven pull effort from Jeffery Moss. Justin Seymour tossed in 13 points with the duo of TJ Sapp and John Jones chipping in with eight points as the entire seven man rotation scored.

The Southern Illinois Salukis have scored some points at times but it appears their strength will be running a slow offense that hits some shots and limits mistakes while leaning hard on the defensive side of the floor. The Salukis saw a golden opprtunity to win Friday go by the wayside in a 56-52 loss to visiting New Orleans. The game featured great shooting with both squads connecting at around 46%-47% while combining for 32 turnovers. The difference was the Privateers sank two more threes in a very even boxscore. A 12 point performance from Anthony Beane was a game high while Jordan Caroline added ten points and and five yanks with Jalen Pendleton and Sean O'Brian combining for another 15 points. Southern Illinois played a nine rotation with each finding the scoring column.
