The Louisville Cardinals welcome the Cal State Northridge Matadores to the KFC Yum! Center Tuesday.
The Cal State Northridge Matadores have to begin winning right now before it's too late as a 3-9 record is already a deep hole to dig out of. The Matadores are struggling at both ends of the floor and for a team that is getting outscored 73-66 the changes needed are rather large and the season is about to be lost if the numbers aren't reversed. The woes continued for CSN in a 75-68 loss to visiting Texas A&M CC on Saturday with the Islanders taking control with a 52 point second half. The Islanders hit shots at 44% but nailed ten bombs while connecting at 35% themselves. Stephen Maxwell was the big gun for the Matadores with a contest high 23 points followed by a 14 point, six pull performance from Stephan Hicks with Devonte Elliott chipping in with nine points.

The Louisville Cardinals have a familiar look with the number four ranking being the byproduct of above average offense and defense. The 10-0 Cardinals are outscoring opponents 77-54 as they are as impressive as ever in their first season in the ACC. The double digit victories have been piling up until the Cardinals won by just nine in a 76-67 victory over Western Kentucky on Saturday. UL hit at 41.5% from the field with a 26-15 advantage at the stripe while the Hilltoppers countered with 37.5% accuracy and a 10-23 performance from long range. Terry Rozier took control of the offense with 32 points and five yanks with Montrezl Harrell adding 14 points and six pulls before being ejected in the closing seconds of the first half. Chris Jones contributed another ten points as Louisville ran a ten man rotation with seven scoring.
The Matadors are 4-17 ATS in their last 21 non-conference games and are 3-14 ATS in their last 17 Tuesday games. CSN are 0-4 ATS in their last 4 games following a S.U. loss and are 0-4 ATS in their last 4 games vs. a team with a winning % above .600. The Cardinals are 5-1 ATS in their last 6 games vs. a team with a losing S.U. record and are 3-1-1 ATS in their last 5 games following a ATS loss. Louisville is 12-5 ATS in their last 17 games vs. a team with a winning % below .400 and 1-4-1 ATS in their last 6 home games. Harrell is suspended for this one but it doesn't matter at all with Louisville winning big. They cover if they want or just win big if they want...
