The TD Bank Sports Center and the Quinnipiac Bobcats welcome the Saint Peter's Peacocks to town Friday.
The Saint Peter's Peacocks are not known for their ability to rack up wins but they have done well for themselves with victories in four of five with some iffy scoring able to get the job done. The Peacocks are looking to build on a 59-52 decision at Cornell in overtime on Sunday. This wasn't pretty with the Big Red hitting at 33% with SPC connecting at 29% but sinking 8-19 from distance and holding a 21-16 edge at the line. The Peacocks received 17 points and nine boards from Marvin Dominique with Tyler Gaskins netting 16 points and snagging seven rebounds. Desi Washington was next in line 13 points while Rodney Hawkins chipped in with eight points. The Peacocks went around nine players deep but just six scored.
USA TODAY Sports
The Quinnipiac Bobcats begin their second season in the MAAC looking to boost their performance away from home where they seemed to struggle the most. Both ends of the floor have been clicking in building a three game winning streak after routing visiting Maine 81-64 on Monday. The Bobcats broke open a three point game with a dominating second half with all five starters breaking in the double digit scoring column. Ousmane Drame poured in a game high 20 points and and eleven rebounds followed by Zaid Hearst with 15 points and eight boards. Kasim Chandler tossed in eleven points and handed out eight assists while Justin Harris and Evan Conti netted ten points each with Conti snagging six yanks.
The Peacocks are 17-42-1 ATS in their last 60 vs. Metro Atlantic Athletic and 2-5-1 ATS in their last 8 games following a S.U. win. Saint Peter's are 1-4 ATS in their last 5 Friday games and 1-4 ATS in their last 5 games following a ATS win. The Bobcats are 1-5 ATS in their last 6 games following a S.U. win and 1-5 ATS in their last 6 games vs. a team with a losing S.U. record while going 1-6 ATS in their last 7 vs. Metro Atlantic Athletic. The Peacocks are going through their struggles but in all honesty Quinnipiac has not impressed me and if they don't come up big here they could be in trouble...
