The Louisiana-Lafayette Ragin' Cajuns host the Troy Trojans in Sun Belt action at the Cajundome.
The Troy Trojans are trying to keep their heads above water with the Sun Belt schedule just beginning but from what I have seen their life would be easier with a boost at the defensive end. The Trojans did get a defensive boost in their conference opener but the offense struggled in a 57-46 defeat to visiting Texas State on Tuesday night. A 14 point first half set the tone for the Trojans who never recovered with 27% shooting making the Bobcats 43% accuracy look red hot. Musa Abdul-Aleem was the Trojans only double digit scorer with 20 points on 6-14 from the floor while Kelton Ford added eight points and five steals with eight others combining for 16 points.

The Louisiana-Lafayette Ragin' Cajuns are still something of a mystery despite their 7-5 record because their strength of schedule hasn't been the strongest. The Ragin' Caguns have won four of five eith their high scoring offense leading the way. The Cajuns needed thei scoring in an 83-79, overtime win at Arkansas-Little Rock where both teams connected at around 43%. UALR sank a few more field goals but this game was eventually decided at the charity stripe where UL Lafayette turned 20 personals in to a 19-11- advantage at the stripe. Shawn Long was the offensive star as he pumped in a game high 23 points and hauled in 12 rebounds followed by a 20 point, five assist effort from Kasey Shepherd. Jonathan Stove and Devonta Walker combined for 15 points with Walker snagging eleven boards.
The Trojans are 4-0 ATS in their last 4 games following a ATS loss and 5-0 ATS in their last 5 games after scoring less than 50 points in their previous game. Troy are 7-2 ATS in their last 9 road games vs. a team with a winning home record and 6-2 ATS in their last 8 road games vs. a team with a home winning % of greater than .600. The Ragin' Cajuns are 5-1 ATS in their last 6 home games vs. a team with a road winning % of less than .400 and are 4-1 ATS in their last 5 home games while going 7-3 ATS in their last 10 vs. Sun Belt. This is really a game that the Ragin' Cajuns have to win at home and I lean their way but it's not the type of game that interests me...
