The Delaware Blue Hens graduated the vast majority of their NCAA tournament squad from a season ago and it's shown in their record with struggles coming at both ends of the floor. Those struggles continued in a 72-53 defeat at the hands of visiting Northeastern on Saturday. The Huskies took a ten point lead after a half and expanded the lead over the final 20 minutes. The Hens couldn't slow the Huskies offense which hit at 49% and their own 31.7% acccuracy wasn't competitive. Maurice Jeffers led the Blue Hens offense with eleven points on 4-7 with Kyle Anderson scoring ten points but was just 4-14 from the field. Delaware did play eleven players and each found the scoring column.

It's still early but if you are a Hofstra Pride fan you have to be pleased with their 10-4 start. The Pride have been impressive as they have out outscored the opposition 80-66 and have dominated both ends of the floor in building a three game winning streak. The Pride erased an eleven point hole in the first half with a 43-20 run over the final 20 minutes to upend UNC Wilmington 68-56 Saturday. The Seahawks held a 36%-30.5% shooting edge but the Pride sank 18 more free throws which was decisive. The twosome of Juan'ya Green and Ameen Tanksley each scored 15 points and combined for ten boards with Dion Nesmith tossing in eleven points and grabbing seven pulls. Brian Bernardi and Moussa Kone combined for 17 points with all eight members of the rotation scoring.
