The St Joseph's Hawks look for a road win when they visit the AJ Palumbo Center to tangle with A-10 foe the Duquesne Dukes.
The St Joseph's Hawks are barely treading water at 6-6 because their offense is only scoring 61 points. The Hawks have dropped consecutive contests following a 64-60 defeat to visiting George Washington on Saturday. The Colonials jumped to a 13 point lead after 20 minutes and survived the Hawks comeback attempts. With both teams hitting at around 41% this one might have gotten away with GW sinking five more free throws. St Joes received a game hig 22 points and eight rebounds from DeAndre Bembry with Chris Welton adding 15 points and nine boards. Three others contributed between 6-7 points but production was difficult to come by after the top two.

The Duquesne Dukes have been struggling to make an impact in the Atlantic Ten for quite awhile and this season doesn't look much different with their record standing at 5-7. If the Dukes scoring is down they are in trouble because the defense struggles to control the scoreboard. That was the case in Saturday's 81-55 defeat at Dayton where the Flyers jumped out to a 17 point halftime lead and never let up. Duquesne never found the range at 34% but Dayton did with a hefty 56.6% including ten makes from distance. Jeremiah Jones was the Dukes only double digit scorer with ten points with Eric James contributing nine points and six boards. Four others scored between 6-7 points but the offense needed more explosiveness.
The Hawks are 4-0 ATS in their last 4 vs. Atlantic 10 and 4-1 ATS in their last 5 games overall. St Joes are 30-12 ATS in their last 42 games following a S.U. loss and 46-20-1 ATS in their last 67 games vs. a team with a losing S.U. record. The Dukes are 5-0 ATS in their last 5 games following a S.U. loss and 5-2-1 ATS in their last 8 vs. Atlantic 10. Duquesne are 16-34-2 ATS in their last 52 games following a ATS loss and 4-12-1 ATS in their last 17 home games vs. a team with a losing road record. Even though St Joes isn't close to being the team they were a season ago I still think they have enough here to get the win...
