The Saint Peter's Peacocks pay a visit to Draddy Gymnasium to face the Manhattan Jaspers Wednesday.
The Saint Peter's Peacocks are not known for hot streaks but they are in the midst of one now and the question is do they continue to buck the odds and keep winning. The Peacocks have won four in a row and six of seven after knocking off Marist 79-67 on Sunday. SPC took a 12 point lead in to the half and withstood a Red Foxes rally with a slight 54%-51% shooting edge and a 10-7 margin from beyond the arc getting the job done. Leading scorer Desi Washington was at his best with a game high 26 points and five yanks on 7-10 from the floor followed by a 16 point effort from Tyler Gaskins. Marvin Dominique came through with 12 points and eight rebounds while Quadir Welton tossed in eleven points as the starters scored all but eight points.
USA TODAY Sports
The Manhattan Jaspers have become increasingly difficult to predict as they lose to a struggling Niagara club by 12 and then follow with a win at Canisius with one of their top players out. Overall the Jaspers have won three of four after knocking off the Golden Griffins 63-60 on the road without suspended Emmy Andujar on Sunday. The bottom line is Manhattan made shots at nearly 49% and and Canisius hit at 39% wit the Golden Griffins 3-21 mark on threes doing them in. Shane Richards picked up the Jaspers offense with a game high 18 points and ten rebounds on 5-9 from distance with Rich Williams tossing in 12. The duo of RaShawn Stores and Zane Waterman combined for 17 points with nine players scoring overall.
The Peacocks are 4-1 ATS in their last 5 road games and 4-1 ATS in their last 5 road games vs. a team with a winning home record. Saint Peter's are 18-43-1 ATS in their last 62 vs. Metro Atlantic Athletic and 2-5-1 ATS in their last 8 games following a ATS loss. The Jaspers are 4-0 ATS in their last 4 home games and 4-0 ATS in their last 4 home games vs. a team with a losing road record while going 5-2 ATS in their last 7 vs. Metro Atlantic Athletic. I am 1-2 on Manhattan games and struggle with these guys. I am taking the points assuming Andujar is still out...
