The Georgia State Panthers lock horns with Sun Belt foe the Louisiana-Lafayette Ragin' Cajuns Thursday.
The Georgia State Panthers were the 900 pound gorilla in the Sun Belt a season ago and are one of the favorites once again in 2014-15. The Panthers are off to a 9-5 start behind and above average offense and a defense that is more then adequate although the D was breached in a 77-74, overtime defeat to visiting Texas State on Monday. Both teams gave the ball away 17 times and the Panthers held a slight 45%-43% shooting edge but the Bobcats won it with a 9-2 advantage on threes. Ryan Harrow carried the Georgia State offense with a contest high 29 points on 11-22 shooting followed by a 14 point, five steal effort from Kevin Ware while Ryann Green and Markus Crider combined for 19 points with five and ten rebounds respectively.

The Louisiana-Lafayette Ragin' Cajuns have the huge offense that makes them a threat each time they take the floor at nearly 83 points and perhaps the best home court advantage in the Cajundome. The Ragin' Cajuns are off to a 3-0 start in the Sun Belt after throttling Appalachian State 80-64 on the road Monday. ULL took a 14 point lead after 20 minutes and were never challenged with a substantial 51.7%-39% shooting edge. Brian Williams led five double digit scorers with 15 points on 6-8 from the field followed by a 14 point, eight rebound performance by Bryce Washington. Kasey Shepherd added 13 points and five yanks with the duo of Shawn Long and Devonta Walker netting ten points apiece with Long snaring nine boards.
The Panthers are 3-7 ATS in their last 10 games following a S.U. loss and 2-8 ATS in their last 10 games vs. a team with a winning S.U. record. Georgia State are 1-5 ATS in their last 6 games overall and 1-7 ATS in their last 8 road games following three or more consecutive home games. The Ragin' Cajuns are 5-0 ATS in their last 5 games overall and 4-0 ATS in their last 4 vs. Sun Belt. ULL are 6-1 ATS in their last 7 home games vs. a team with a road winning % of less than .400 and 5-1 ATS in their last 6 home games. It's not a good plan to go against Georgia State but if anybody can beat the Panthers it's ULL at the Cajundome...
