The Bowling Green Falcons welcome MAC rival the Ohio Bobcats to the Stroh Center in Saturday action.
The Ohio Bobcats have been one of the top teams in the Mac for years but at 5-7 this season hasn't been their best. If I had to describe the Bobcats I would say a lack of consistency has made them so unpredictable. The Bobcats began the conference schedule with a 70-60defeat at the hands of visiting Northern Illinois on Wednesday. The Huskies broke open a tie game with a 38-28 second half with a 43%-40.7% shooting edge combining with nine more free throws to scure the win with Ohio going 6-24 from distance which killed their chances. The Bobcats received 16 points and seven boards from Antonio Campbell with Javarez Willis scoring 15. Maurice Ndour netted 13 points and hauled in ten rebounds while Ryan Taylor chipped in with ten points.

Will this be the year the Bowling Green Falcons make a run at the conference crown? So far I would say the Falcons are in the running at 9-3 but I still need convincing. The defense first Falcons allow less then 59 points which makes their 65 points work just fine. BGSU have won three in a row and four of five after going to Kent State and ralling for a 66-64 victory in a game the Golden Flashes controlled by eleven at the half. Both teams made shots in the 44% range but the Falcons were 8-15 on threes and Kent Sate was just 6-21 in an even boxscore otherwise. Leading scorer Richaun Holmes pumped in 20 points and posted five yanks on 8-16 with Spencer Dunkley tossing in 16 points. Zach Denny, Anthony Henderson and Jehvon Clarke each netted seven points with the entire eight man rotation scoring.
The Bobcats are 4-1 ATS in their last 5 games following a double digit loss at home and 9-4 ATS in their last 13 games following a S.U. loss. Ohio are 13-6 ATS in their last 19 games following a ATS loss and 2-6 ATS in their last 8 games overall. The Falcons are 4-0 ATS in their last 4 games overall and 3-0-1 ATS in their last 4 home games vs. a team with a losing road record. BGSU are 6-1-1 ATS in their last 8 home games and 4-1-1 ATS in their last 6 games following a S.U. win. Bowling Green looks like solid team while Ohio might have taken a step back but I sure hate laying the chalk...
