Draddy Gymnasium and the Manhattan Jaspers face the Niagara Purple Eagles for the second time.
For the Niagara Purple Eagles the wins have been far and few between as their main goal at this point is to finish somewhere in the middle of the MAAC. If that is to become reality the offense needs much more then 60 points and the defense can not allow anything close to 70 points. That was far easier said then done in Thursday's 79-69 defeat at Siena. The Saints exploded for a 17 point lead at the intermission before surviving a second half rally. The Saints fired away at 53% and the Purple Eagles couldn't hang with their 37% accuracy. Wesley Myers tried to carry Niagara with 21 points with Emile Blackman and Ramone Snowden combining for 21 points. Karonn Davis and Dominique Reid added another 17 points in what was a big offensive performance.

The Manhattan Jaspers have looked like a contender in the MAAC with wins in four of five except for the loss to Niagara which is hard to explain. The Jaspers are at their best when the defense keeps opponents in the mid 60's of lower because this is not a big scoring squad. The Jaspers improved to 2-1 in the conference following a 68-63 victory versus visiting Saint Peter's on Wednesday. The Peacocks fell behind by 19 after 20 minutes before a dramatic second half rally nearly pulled it out. In the end Manhattan's 50%-41% shooting and 30-15 advantage at the charity stripe prevailed. Emmy Andujar led all scorers with 21 points followed by an 18 point, nine rebound performance from Ashton Pankey. RaShawn Stores and Shane Richards tossed in ten and nine points respectively with the rest of the team scoring ten.
The Purple Eagles are 2-8 ATS in their last 10 road games vs. a team with a home winning % of greater than .600 and 1-4 ATS in their last 5 road games. Niagara are 1-4 ATS in their last 5 road games vs. a team with a winning home record and 1-6 ATS in their last 7 games overall. The Jaspers are 4-0 ATS in their last 4 home games vs. a team with a road winning % of less than .400 and 5-0 ATS in their last 5 home games. Manhattan are 5-0 ATS in their last 5 home games vs. a team with a losing road record and 4-1 ATS in their last 5 games overall. Manhattan did not play well in the first meeting with Niagara and don't think it can't happen again because the Jaspers sometimes don't show up...
