USA TODAY Sports

The Oklahoma State Cowboys fell to 11-3 (1-1 Big 12) on the season after losing 63-61 to the 17th ranked Iowa State Cyclones this past Tuesday. The Cowboys allowed the Cyclones to shot 43.9% from the field in the loss. Leading the way for Oklahoma State was Phil Porte III who had 21 points, 4 rebounds, and 5 assists. The Cowboys are currently ranked 53rd in the RPI Standings and have played the 113th ranked SOS. On the season Oklahoma State haas been led by Phil Forte III (17.6 ppg, 2.4 rpg, 2.7 spg) and Le’Bryan Nash (17.5 ppg, 6.5 rpg, 2.2 apg). The Cowboys currently average 71.9 ppg (ranked 90th) on 45.5% shooting (ranked 89th). Oklahoma State is averaging 7.4 three-pointers per game (ranked 74th) on 33.8% three-point shooting (ranked 174th). Defensively, the Cowboys are allowing 58.6 ppg (ranked 30th) on 37.5% shooting (ranked 22nd). Oklahoma State does a nice job defending the three-pointer as they are holding teams to 30.9% from beyond the arc (ranked 88th). The Cowboys grab 27.0 defensive rpg (ranked 33rd) and 36.29 total rpg (ranked 122nd).

The Longhorns are 5-0 ATS in their last 5 road games however, just 1-4 ATS in their last 5 games overall. The Cowboys are 5-1 ATS in their last 6 home games and 7-3 ATS in their last 10 games overall.

Texas got back their star guard in Isaiah Taylor recently and although they’ve been struggling to find their offensive rhythm recently, I don’t think it’s anything to be overly concern about. Oklahoma State have a few great scorers in Nash and Forte III, however, I think the Longhorn defensive will cause them trouble and I’m taking Texas and the points in this one.
