The Illinois-Chicago Flames battle conference rival the Detroit Titans at UIC Pavilion in Wednesday action.
The Detroit Titans are generally known for lighting up the scoreboard and for allowing their fair share of points as well. The Titans have been scoring in bunches in back to back victories after downing visiting Oakland 74-54 on Saturday as a 3.5 point favorite. UDM took control early with a 15 point lead at the intermission and never gave the Golden Grizzlies a chance to come back. Oakland hit at less then 35% and gave the ball away 19 times which made the Titans 46.7% shooting a solid performance. Paris Bass was the offensive star with a game high 18 points on 8-14 accuracy with Juwan Howard Jr. and Anton Watson combining for 21 points. Chris Jenkins chipped in wiith nine points with eleven players scoring overall.

The Illinois-Chicago Flames have had trouble getting their shots to fall and that is a problem with the defense struggling to get stops. This adds up to a 5-13 record with back to back defeats following an 85-56 loss at Valparaiso where the Crusaders were never in danger with a 15 point lead after 20 minutes while continuing to press the issue until the final buzzer. Valpo hardly missed with a hefty 60% from the floor and a 17-10 edge at the charity stripe while the Flames were held to 33% and hit only 8-28 from beyond the arc. Ahman Fells was the only player to reach double figures with 13 points on 5-9 from the field. Markese Walker and Jay Harris each tossed in eight points with Paris Burns chipping in with seven. Nine players scored altogether but nothing explosive.
The Titans are 4-1 ATS in their last 5 games vs. a team with a winning % below .400 and 4-1 ATS in their last 5 games following a S.U. win. Detroit are 2-5 ATS in their last 7 games overall and 5-15-1 ATS in their last 21 Wednesday games. The Flames are 5-1 ATS in their last 6 games following a SU loss of more than 20 points and 11-5 ATS in their last 16 Wednesday games. UIC are 2-5 ATS in their last 7 games following a ATS loss and 4-10 ATS in their last 14 games overall. Neither team is a great cover squad but hopefully Detroit is the better of two evils...
