The Illinois State Redbirds hope to avoid the season sweep to the Indiana State Sycamores at the Hulman Center.
After a slow start to the Missouri Valley schedule the Illinois State Redbirds are trying to regroup and avoid falling too far down the standings. Following an 0-2 start to the conference slate the Redbirds have won consecutive league games to level their record at 2-2 after a 69-55 rout of Missouri State on the road Sunday as a two point favorite. ISU took control early with a 22 point lead before going in to cruise control over the final 20 minutes. Illinois State didn't light it up at 40% but were 9-15 from distance while the Bears were limited to 35.8% and a mere 1-13 on threes. Bobby Hunter led all scorers with 17 points and five yanks on 7-8 from the floor followed by an eleven point, six pull effort from MiKyle McIntosh. Daishon Knight and Reggie Lynch combined for 17 points with Lynch grabbing seven boards.

The Indiana State Sycamores could not score or defend with any kind of consistency but they have experienced a reversal of fortunes with four consecutive victories. The Sycamores are coming in off of a 59-56 win at Southern Illinois on Saturday as a four point road dog. ISU looked dead in the water as they faced an eleven point hole at the half way point before both ends of the floor found the groove in the second. The Salukis hit shots at less then 41% and were 3-12 from long range while the Sycamores connected at 43.5% but were 8-18 on threes which turned out to be significant. Indiana State received a contest high 22 points from Devonte Brown on 7-9 fom the floor with Justin Gant and Khristian adding 12 and ten points with Brenton Scott chipping in with eight. These five players were the only ones to find the scoring column.
The Redbirds are 5-1 ATS in their last 6 road games and 5-1 ATS in their last 6 games following a ATS win. Illinois State are 8-2 ATS in their last 10 games overall and 5-2 ATS in their last 7 vs. Missouri Valley. The Sycamores are 4-0 ATS in their last 4 games vs. a team with a winning S.U. record and 4-0 ATS in their last 4 games overall. Indiana State are 4-0 ATS in their last 4 vs. Missouri Valley and 5-11 ATS in their last 16 Wednesday games. I think Illinois State is the better squad and have revenge on their mind but I'll back the hot home dog...
