The William & Mary Tribe visit the Towson Center to battle CAA rival the Towson Tigers on Saturday.
I believe the William & Mary Tribe will be the top squad in the Colonial when all is said and done but they haven't played well in spurts and that is something to watch going forward. The Tribe looked dead in the water versus visiting North Carolina-Wilmington on Wednesday as they trailed by 20 entering the break before ending the game on a 52-28 run to win 76-72. Both teams connected at 55% with the Seahawks posting seven more looks and four more baskets while W&M had a huge 21-9 edge at the foul line which was key. Marcus Thorton led the Tribe attack with 19 points on 4-12 with Omar Prewitt next in line with 16 points. Terry Tarpey turned in a 14 point, eight rebound and five assist performance while Sean Sheldon and Daniel Dixon combined 15 points.

The Towson Tigers lost too much to gaduation to be a real threat to win the CAA but if they can keep the scoreboard under control then this team will be dangerous if the offense can lend a helping hand as 63 points scored and allowed is tough to win with consistently. The Tigers are struggling with defeats in nine of ten after falling at Delaware 67-64 in overtime. The Blue Hens had a 39%-35.7% edge in marksmanship with Towson leading 9-3 on threes but UD sank eleven more free throws. John Davis led a trio of double digit scorers with 18 points and ten rebounds with Byron Hawkins and Four McGlynn added 12 and eleven points. Alex Gavrilovic chipped in with eight points and five yanks as the entire eight man rotation scored.
The Tribe are 9-2 ATS in their last 11 games following a ATS loss and 17-4 ATS in their last 21 games vs. a team with a losing S.U. record. W&M are 11-3 ATS in their last 14 Saturday games and 8-3 ATS in their last 11 games following a S.U. win. The Tigers are 5-1 ATS in their last 6 home games vs. a team with a losing road record and 4-1 ATS in their last 5 home games vs. a team with a road winning % of less than .400. Towson are 7-2 ATS in their last 9 games following a ATS loss and 2-6 ATS in their last 8 games overall. William & Mary is a challenger in the CAA but an awful road team so I'm pressing my luck...
