John D. Millet Hall and the Miami (Ohio) Redhawks welcome the Western Michigan Broncos to town Wednesday.
The Western Michigan Broncos specialty is running the floor and lighting up the scoreboard at 74 points which is top 50 material. The offense struggled in the conference opener at Akron but rebounded to post three consecutive victories after downing Toledo on the road 81-78 in overtime. The Broncos defended the shot well with the Rockets hitting at less then 40% but Toledo hit more free throws to keep the 50% shooting visitors from pulling away. WMU received 25 points and eleven rebounds on 8-12 from Connar Tava with David Brown adding 20 points and seven boards. Austin Richie and Tucker Haymond score eleven points each with Haymond posting five pulls and six assists with Mario Matasovic netting ten points and handing out five dishes.

If the Miami (Ohio) Redhawks are going to turn things around then now is the time before the conference schedule matures and time is no longer a friend. If that is going to happen the Redhawks need both ends of the floor to up their game as getting outscored 71-66 is not going to work. The Redawks had upset on their mind at Buffalo with a three point lead at the break but the Bulls took control with a 48 pont second half to winn 77-68. UB hit at around 45% and the visitors didn't do much over the final 20 minutes on 37% accuracy with UB pulling away on a 27-13 edge at the foul line. Eric Washington paced the attack with 17 points and nine helpers with Geovonie McKnight tossing in 15 points. Will Sullivan followed with 14 points and a team high eleven rebounds with eight members of the nine man rotation scoring.
The Broncos are 5-0 ATS in their last 5 games vs. a team with a winning % below .400 and 4-1 ATS in their last 5 games vs. a team with a losing S.U. record. Western Michigan are 11-4-1 ATS in their last 16 vs. Mid-American and 1-4 ATS in their last 5 games following a S.U. win. The Red Hawks are 2-5 ATS in their last 7 home games and 3-8 ATS in their last 11 games vs. a team with a winning S.U. record. Miami (Ohio) are 3-9 ATS in their last 12 games vs. a team with a winning % above .600 and 3-11 ATS in their last 14 games overall. Miami (Ohio) has played Western Michigan tough and the Broncos could be in for a letdown after beating Toledo but I hope they know they can't afford it...
