The Santa Clara Broncos look to even their record when the Loyola Marymount Lions visit the Leavey Center.
The Loyola Marymount Lions sit at 5-14 mainly because of their problems getting the scoring and defense on the same page and just as important; getting one or both to improve their numbers. The Lions have been outscored 70-63 which obviously makes winning difficult and have dropped five of six after Saturday's 72-55 loss to visiting Gonzaga. The Bulldogs opened up an eleven after 20 minutes and continued to press the issue until the final horn. The Zags hit at 52% including a 10-22 effort on threes while LMU never found the shooting touch on 29%. Loyola Marymount received 14 points from Ayodeji Egbeyemi on 5-13 followed Evan Payne and Petr Herman with eleven points apiece with Herman grabbing a team high seven rebounds. David Humphries added eight points and five pulls but the offense couldn't keep up with the red hot Zags.

The Santa Clara Broncos are having a difficult time scoring the basketball which means cracking the top four in the top heavy West Coast is a tall order. The offense broke the 70 point plateau for the first time in seven conference bouts in a 70-64 victory against San Francisco Saturday. The Broncos were quick out of the gate with an eleven point lead after 20 minutes before holding off a late Dons rally. USF sank shots at 40% and were done in by a 4-22 mark on threes while the home team hit at 45% and 10-21 from long range with a 24-14 edge at the stripe being key. Brandon Clark shouldered the scoring load with a contest high 23 points, eight boards and five helpers with Jared Brownridge adding 18 points and six pulls. Denzel Johnson tossed in eleven points and posted five assists with the starting five scoring all but nine points.
The Lions are 4-0 ATS in their last 4 games overall and 4-0 ATS in their last 4 vs. West Coast. Loyola Marymount are 5-1 ATS in their last 6 road games and 4-1 ATS in their last 5 road games vs. a team with a home winning % of greater than .600. The Broncos are 4-0 ATS in their last 4 games vs. a team with a losing S.U. record and 7-3 ATS in their last 10 vs. West Coast. Santa Clara are 15-32 ATS in their last 47 home games and are 17-37 ATS in their last 54 home games vs. a team with a losing road record. I could be looking at this wrong but it seems the Lions have played similar competition a bit better so I'll take the points...
