The Portland State Vikings road to success is paved with points as scoring is what they do the best and unfortunately what opponents do the best as well. The Vikings are outscored 74-73 and need a great effort on the scoreboard most of the time and got it Saturday in an 85-73 victory over Idaho who is no stranger to lighting up scoreboards. The Vandals had no problems offensively on 48% scoring with nine bombs while the Vikings did their damage on 45% accuracy with 13 more free throws making the difference. Braxton Tucker and DaShaun Wiggins paced the attack with 19 points each with Tucker snagging seven boards. Gary Winston followed with 14 points, five yanks and seven assists while Tiegbe Bamba and Zach Gengler scored 12 and nine points.

Some experts penned the Weber State Wildcats as a challenger in the Big Sky but they are hobbling along with an 8-9 record with 68 points scored and given up. The Wildcats appeared to be heading in the right direction with three consecutive victories before the good times came to an end in a 70-60 defeat at Southern Utah as a five point favorite. The Thunderbirds burned the nets on nearly 55% marksmanship while the Wildcats connected at 34.7% with 14 more free throws still not enough. Richaud Gittens led all scorers with 18 points on 6-7 from the field including a 3-3 mark on threes while Jeremy Senglin added 14 polnts and six pulls. Kyndahl Hill and Joel Bolomboy netted 12 and eight points respectively and combined for 14 rebounds.
The Vikings are 3-7 ATS in their last 10 games overall and are 1-4 ATS in their last 5 games following a ATS win while going 0-5 ATS in their last 5 games following a S.U. win. The Wildcats are 17-8 ATS in their last 25 games following a ATS loss and are 2-5-1 ATS in their last 8 home games vs. a team with a road winning % of less than .400. Weber State are 2-5 ATS in their last 7 home games and 4-10 ATS in their last 14 games overall. Weber State has dominated the Vikings at home but that was when they were monsters in the Big Sky so we shall see...
