The Line: George Washington Colonials -14 -- Over/Under: See the Latest Odds
The George Washington Colonials hope to avoid the upset bid of the visiting Duquesne Dukes Saturday.
The Duquesne Dukes have been able to score the basketball but so have opponents with 73 points scored and given up. Wins are tough to come by at these numbers and their 6-11 record tells that story. The Dukes saw a big lead go by the wayside in a 100-97, overtime loss to visiting St Bonaventure Thursday as the Bonnies came back from a 51-39 first half deficit to send the game to the extra session. Defense was optional with the Bonnies holding a 50%-49.6% shooting advantage with a combined 26 bombs. Micah Mason was one of six double digit scorers with 18 points with Derrik Colter adding 17 points and six pulls. TySean Powell, LG Gill and Jordan Stevens each scored 13 points followed by Dominique McCoy and his 12 points.

The George Washington Colonials can score the basketball and defend which makes them a very opponent. Both ends of the floor have contributed to a 5-1 start to the Atlantic Ten after a 79-59 rout of Fordham on the road Thursday. GW never gave the Rams any thought of pulling the upset as they jumped to a 14 point lead at the intermission and stretched the lead over the final 20 minutes. The Rams were limited to 36% from the floor which neutralized 13 more attampts while the Colonials nailed 56% of their looks while owning a 21-10 margin at the foul line. John Kopriva led all scorers with 19 points on 7-7 accuracy with Patricio Garino adding 16 points and eight boards. Kethan Savage followed with a 14 point effort while Kevin Larsen and Joe McDonald scored eleven points each with Larsen posting eight rebounds.
The Dukes are 4-0 ATS in their last 4 games following a ATS loss and 7-2 ATS in their last 9 games following a S.U. loss. Duquesne are 5-2-1 ATS in their last 8 games vs. a team with a winning % above .600 and 4-9 ATS in their last 13 games after allowing more than 90 points in their previous game. The Colonials are 2-5-1 ATS in their last 8 games following a ATS win and 1-3-1 ATS in their last 5 home games vs. a team with a road winning % of less than .400. George Washington are 1-3-1 ATS in their last 5 home games vs. a team with a losing road record and 1-4-1 ATS in their last 6 games following a S.U. win. This is an ugly spread and all I can say is the Colonials cover if they go hard for 40 minutes...
