The William & Mary Tribe welcome the Northeastern Huskies to town in Colonial action Saturday.

The William & Mary Tribe have some of the better numbers in the conference with plenty of potential at either end of the floor which is why they are 5-2 in the CAA. The problem is the Tribe can be wildly inconsistent from half to half where big leads are blown of big deficits are overcome. That was the case once again in an 84-80 loss at Delaware Wednesday as the team jumped to a 12 point lead at the half only to be outscored 52-36 over the final 20 minutes. The struggling Blue Hens hit at 56% from the floor with the Tribe at 44% including a 12-25 mark on threes to stay close. Omar Prewitt carried the scoring with a game high 30 points and seven rebounds on 7-13 while Marcus Thornton netted 15 points. Terry Tarpey added 12 points, ten boards and six helpers with Sean Sheldon and Greg Malinowski adding seven points apiece.

When I watch the Northeastern Huskies I don't see numbers that jump off the page at me but at the end of the day we are talking about a team that is an impressive 14-6 and a frontrunner in the Colonial. The Huskies are off to a 6-1 start to conference play after an 82-59 victory over visiting James Madison on Thursday night as a seven point favorite. NE took the mystery out this with a 17 point lead after 20 minutes and never giving the Dukes a chance to rally. JMU connected at 44% but that paled next to the Huskies 52.5% and 9-17 performance on threes while posting nine more shots. TJ Williams gave Northeastern 17 points on 9-17 shooting followed by a 15 point effort from David Walker. Reggie Spencer tossed in 13 points and Quincy Ford eight but points were plentiful with ten players scoring.

The Huskies are 4-0 ATS in their last 4 road games vs. a team with a home winning % of greater than .600 and 7-0 ATS in their last 7 games vs. a team with a winning S.U. record. Northeastern are 6-0 ATS in their last 6 games following a SU win of more than 20 points and 5-1 ATS in their last 6 road games. The Tribe are 10-2 ATS in their last 12 games following a S.U. loss and 10-2 ATS in their last 12 games following a ATS loss. W&M 5-1 ATS in their last 6 games vs. a team with a winning % above .600 and 5-2 ATS in their last 7 home games. The Tribe have done well in this match up but they are night and at times in the same game and in my view this is a game to watch and not bet...
