The Siena Saints shoot for another win when the Saint Peter's Peacocks visit the Times Union Center.
The Saint Peter's Peacocks are nearing the point where they can't afford too many defeats or their hopes of cracking the top four in the MAAC will be over. The Peacocks have dropped four of five to fall to 3-6 in the conference with their scoring struggles continuing in a 63-55 defeat to visiting Quinnipiac on Wednesday. A late second half run from the Bobcats broke open a tie game even though the Peacocks held a slight 41.7%-38.5% shooting edge. SPC had five more field goals but the Bobcats had a 21-2 advantage at the stripe to win it. Leading scorer Marvin Dominique tossed in 13 points and hauled in nine rebounds while Desi Washington netted 12 points. Tyler Gaskins and Quadir Weldon combined for 17 points with Quadir posting eight boards but only eight points came from the bench.

The Siena Saints have been all over the map with scoring potential but a struggling defense that is giving up nearly 75 points. Perhaps the Saints are righting the ship with consecutive victories that upped their conference record to 5-4. A 69-60 win over visiting Marist Friday was a good sign with both ends of the floor getting on the same page although this one was tied at the half before Siena pulled away. The Red Foxes were limited to 34% from the floor and stayed competitive with a 10-29 mark from distance but the Saints sank shots at 45.7% with a 7-12 effort on threes while owning a 20-10 advantage from the foul line. Rob Poole pumped in a game high 20 with seven boards followed by a 15 point effort from Lavon Long. Marquis Wright added 14 points and five yanks while Javion Ogunyemi chipped in with eleven points.
The Peacocks are 19-39-1 ATS in their last 59 games overall and 15-35-1 ATS in their last 51 games following a S.U. loss. Saint Peter's are 19-47-1 ATS in their last 67 vs. Metro Atlantic Athletic and 10-25-1 ATS in their last 36 games following a ATS loss. The Saints are 3-1-1 ATS in their last 5 games vs. a team with a losing S.U. record and 9-4 ATS in their last 13 home games while going 1-5-1 ATS in their last 7 games following a S.U. win. I'm surprised Siena is a pick 'em at home so this line doesn't make sense to me although I'm really not shocked. Like I always say, I've sworn off of Siena games...
