The 12th ranked Utah Utes improved to 15-3 (5-1 Pac-12) on the season after defeating the Washington State Cougars 86-64 this past Wednesday. Utah forced Washington State into committing 17 turnovers and shot 48.3% from the field. Leading the way for Utah was Delon Wright who had 17 points, 8 rebounds, and 3 steals. Utah is ranked 12th in the RPI Standings and has played the 35th ranked SOS. On the season, the Utes have been led by Delon Wright (15.1 ppg, 4.4 rpg, 5.9 apg) and Jordan Loveridge (11.4 ppg, 3.9 rpg). Offensively, Utah is averaging 75.0 ppg (ranked 38th) on 49.7% shooting (ranked 8th). The Utes have a 1.26 assist/turnover ratio (ranked 43rd) and shot 40.7% from beyond the arc (ranked 9th). Defensively, Utah is holding their opponents to an average of 56.6 ppg (ranked 15th) on 37.7% shooting (ranked 18th). The Utes grab 26.72 defensive rpg (ranked 28th) and have a rebound margin of 6.3 (ranked 28th).
The Huskies are 6-2 ATS in their last 8 games following a ATS win and 8-3 ATS in their last 11 games following a S.U. win. The Utes are 7-3-1 ATS in their last 11 home games vs. a team with a winning road record and 41-14-1 ATS in their last 56 home games.
Andrew Andrew’s last second jumper gave Washington a huge win against Colorado. Although Washington has a great defense and will try to slow down the game against Utah, Utah has been unstoppable at home. I think Utah causes Washington have to have a ton of problems on the offensive end and that Delon Wright and Jordan Loveridge do enough on the offensive end to win this easily. The line has yet to be posted for this game, but unless Washington is getting 15+ points, I’m taking Utah to cover this one.
Updated - 1/25/15 (6:00 AM). Looks as if the line is currently at -12. I think Utah will win this one by at least 15. Take the Utes to cover.
