Event Center Arena and the San Jose Spartans look for a MWC win versus the Air Force Falcons.
The Air Force Falcons looked like they would be competitive heading in to the Mountain West schedule but that hasn't been the case with a 1-7 record. Consistency at both ends of the floor has been an issue in five consecutive defeats capped off by a 77-68 loss to visiting Boise State on Saturday. The Falcons were up one at the half before turning on the offensive jets with almost 58% shooting leading the way. AFA was none too shabby at 55% marksmanship but BSU hit more threes an fouls shots. Marek Olesinkski was the top option on offense with 24 points and ten rebounds on 9-11 from the field while Hayden Graham tossed in 14 points and posted five yanks. Justin Hammonds netted another ten points with eight scoring overall.

I never like to make claims that a team is going to do this or that but the numbers are saying the San Jose Spartans season from a competitive standpoint is over. Being a spoiler is something that could happen but the team needs more then 53 points on offense. That didn't happen in an 86-36 defeat at Boise State with the Broncos juming out to a 28 point lead at the intermission and never looking back. SJSU connected at just 25% from the floor and turned the ball 19 times so the 52% shooting home team posted a whopping 21 more looks at the basket. Rashad Muhammad was the only player to score in double figures with 13 while Jaleel Williams and Isaac Thornton scored seven points apiece with Thornton snagging six boards.
The Falcons are 4-1 ATS in their last 5 games vs. a team with a winning % below .400 and 0-4 ATS in their last 4 games following a S.U. loss. Air Force are 0-4 ATS in their last 4 games following a ATS loss and 0-5 ATS in their last 5 games overall. The Spartans are 16-39-2 ATS in their last 57 home games and 16-40-2 ATS in their last 58 games overall. SJSU are 9-25-2 ATS in their last 36 games following a ATS loss and 13-37-2 ATS in their last 52 games following a S.U. loss. The Falcons are not great and laying a big number on the road and I still like them...
