The Dartmouth Big Green travel to The Palestra for an Ivy League tilt with the Penn Quakers.
There are several Ivy League teams that like to slow the game down and milk the clock and the Dartouth Big Green are on that list as they don't have the offensive talent to score with teams. So what do they do? Hang a 70-61 loss on confernce favorite Harvard on the road as an eleven point underdogwith a 45-33 run in the second half carrying the day. The Crimson were held to 39% marksmanship and gave the ball away 18 times while Dartmouth posted 42% shooting and six more free throws. The Penn Quakers have been outscored 68-63 which has led to a 5-10 record but I beleive this team has taken a step forward from previous seasons. The Quakers rebounded from a pair of one sidded defeats to down Big Five rival St Joseph's 56-52 as a four point dog. The Hawks never got untracked offensively at 34% fom the field but did force 17 turnovers to post 18 more looks at the basket to stay competitive. Penn countered with 46% accuracy and turned 25 St Joes personals in to a 16-7 edge at the charity stripe. Leading scorer Tony Hicks pumped in 15 points followed by a 14 point five pull performance by Darrien Nelson Henry who led the team with five turnovers. Greg Lewis added ten points and nine rebounds on 4-6 shooting while Mike Auger contributed eight points.
The Big Green are 3-1-1 ATS in their last 5 vs. Ivy League and 7-3 ATS in their last 10 road games vs. a team with a home winning % of less than .400. Dartmouth are 7-15-2 ATS in their last 24 games vs. a team with a winning % below .400 and 2-6 ATS in their last 8 games overall.
