The Pit will be rocking when the San Jose State Spartans come to town to face the New Mexico Lobos.
The San Jose State Spartans are just 2-18 and although they can struggle defensively the biggest issue is they average 53 points which simply isn't enough. The offensive woes continued in Wednesday's 66-52 defeat at the hands of visiting Air Force. SJSU fell behind by six at the half and closed to within three before faltering late. The Spartans never found the shooting touch at under 39% while AFA connected at 42% with a 7-16 effort on three pointers combining with nine more makes at the stripe. The Spartans received 16 points and seven boards from Jaleel Williams who fouled out n 32 minutes. Darryl Gaynor II netted 15 points on 4-8 from the field but turned the ball over a team high five times. Rasheed Muhammad and Isaac Thornton added eleven and seven points but the rest of the team scored just three points.

The New Mexico Lobos would probably be challenging for the Mountain West crown if not for injuries so instead the team has their sights set on a top four finish which is well within their grasp. The Lobos let first place Wyoming off the hook in a 63-62 road loss despite outshooting the Cowboys 45.8%-39% including an 8-17 effort from long distance. The issue was at the charity stripe where Wyoming led 19-10 which was decisive. Hugh Greenwood carried the New Mexico offense with 23 points on 8-14 with a 5-8 performance from beyond the arc with Devon Williams tossing in nine points. Deshawn Delaney tossed in eight points and grabbed five boards while Sam Lowood chipped in with seven points. The Lobos had many players that scored but needed a bit more points from somewhere to help Greenwood.
The Spartans are 16-41-2 ATS in their last 59 games overall and 10-26-1 ATS in their last 37 games vs. a team with a winning S.U. record. SJSU are 9-26-2 ATS in their last 37 games following a ATS loss and 13-38-2 ATS in their last 53 games following a S.U. loss. The Lobos are 4-1 ATS in their last 5 home games vs. a team with a road winning % of less than .400 and 4-1 ATS in their last 5 games overall. New Mexico are 45-16-1 ATS in their last 62 vs. Mountain West and 22-8 ATS in their last 30 games following a S.U. loss. This is a huge spread and I think the Lobos cover if they want or just win big...
