The Toledo Rockets look to continue their recent success with a road win versus the Northern Illinois Huskies.
The Toledo Rockets were one of the best teams the MAC had to offer a year ago and probably will be once again if they can keep their scoring up and get a little help from the defensive end of the floor. That's exactly what the Rockets received in Tuesday's 70-65 victory over visiting Miami (Ohio) where a seven point first half was the difference. The Redhawks still shot the ball well at 48% and the Rockets 49% accuracy wasn't enough to pull away and the boxscore says this was about even. Jonathan Williams led all scorers with 18 points and hauled in a game high ten rebounds followed by 13 point efforts from JD Weatherspoon and Julius Brown. Nathan Booth did a little of everything with ten points, five yanks and five assists while Jordan Lauf scored seven points and snared six boards.

The Northern Illinois Huskies were a painful offense to watch a season ago but they have improved in 2014-15. The problem is the Huskies average 64 points and allow the same and there is no wiggle room which wa the case in Tuesday's 56-46 defeat at Bowling Green where the Falcons late burst opened up a one point lead. NIU was held to 36% accuracy with BGSU connecting at 43% including a 7-18 performance from beyond the arc. Aaron Armstead was the Huskis only double digit scorer with 12 points on 4-7 from the floor in 25 minutes followed by Anthony Johnson with eight points on 3-11. Darrell Bowie chipped in with six points and five rebounds while four others contributed four points apiece. Altogether ten players received floortime with nine scoring.
The Rockets are 2-5 ATS in their last 7 games following a S.U. win and 4-10-1 ATS in their last 15 road games. Toledo are 2-10 ATS in their last 12 games vs. a team with a losing S.U. record and 0-4 ATS in their last 4 games overall. The Huskies are 4-1 ATS in their last 5 games after scoring less than 50 points in their previous game and 7-2-3 ATS in their last 12 home games. Northern Illinois are 8-3-1 ATS in their last 12 games following a S.U. loss and 16-6-4 ATS in their last 26 vs. Mid-American. The Huskies have been a decent dog in this series but there is no line out because of injuries so please check back...
