The Texas Southern Tigers welcome the Alabama A&M Bulldogs to the Health & PE Arena in SWAC action.
The Alabama A&M Bulldogs are 5-13 overall but 4-4 in the SWAC which tells me they won't win the conference but a top four finish is possible. The Bulldogs still need a boost in scoring as anything less then 60 points won't be competitive especially when allowing 68 points which is what we saw in an 89-63 defeat at Prairie View A&M on Saturday. This one was over quick with the Panthers jumping to a 24 point lead by the half behind 55% marksmanship while the Bulldogs hit at 40% including a 1-16 mark from long range while turning the ball over 21 times. Ladarius Tabb was the Bulldogs offense as he poured in a game high 30 points and grabbed 14 rebounds on 14-28 shooting with Tyler Davis tossing in eleven points. Baryn Houston and Nicholas West combined for 13 points with Davis snagging seven boards.

The Texas Southern Tigers are right in the middle of the SWAC race with a 7-1 conference record with both ends of the floor contributing to the success. Both had a huge in an 89-65 rout versus visiting Alabama State. The Tigers opened up a seven point lead at the half and slowly grew the lead until the final horn sounded. Alabama State were held to 43% from the field while the Tigers burned the nets at 54.5% including a 10-18 performance from long range. Madarious Gibbs led all scorers with 24 points, six boards and five assists on 10-20 accuracy followed by a 17 point, eight rebound effort from Malcolm Riey on 5-9 from the floor. Chris Thomas was next in line with ten points while four players scored between 5-7 points.
The Bulldogs are 2-7 ATS in their last 9 games vs. a team with a losing S.U. record and 4-16-1 ATS in their last 21 games overall and are 2-9 ATS in their last 11 vs. Southwestern Athletic while going 0-7 ATS in their last 7 games following a S.U. loss. The Tigers are 5-13 ATS in their last 18 games vs. a team with a losing S.U. record and 1-5 ATS in their last 6 Monday games while going 0-4 ATS in their last 4 games following a S.U. win. The Bulldogs are awful on the road but I can't explain how inconsistent this conference is and no way would I bet either...
