The Line: Florida International Golden Panthers -- Over/Under: See the Latest Odds
Instate and conference rivals the Florida Atlantic Owls and Florida International Golden Panthers meet on Tuesday.
I think the goal for the Florida Atlantic Owls is to finish the season with a winning record and possibly land a spot in one of the postseason tournaments because a 1-7 mark in the CUSA says a conference title is not in the cards. The Owls are in need of a positive spark after a 68-57 loss at Old Dominion Saturday where nothing went as planned. The difference in this one was making shots with the Monarchs hitting at 51% which added up to ten more baskets against the 37% shooting Owls. Solomon Poole led three double figure scorers with 15 points with Justin Massey and Marquan Botley combining for 21 points with Botley posting five assists. Justn Raffington added nine points and eight boards while Kelvin Penn hauled in 12 rebounds.

The Florida International Golden Panthers have a better overall record and conference mark then their rivals but they still need a strong finish to get a postseason invitation somewhere. The Golden Panthers are hoping Saturday's 78-70 win at Charlotte was a sign of things to come. FIU opened up a 13 point lead at the break before holding off a late 49ers rally. Charlotte was limited to 38% marksmanship while the Golden Panthers fired away at 54% including an impressive 13-21 from beyond the arc. It wasn't a complete effort with 17 giveaways and with the 49ers leading at the stripe 15-3 but their seven more baskets carried the day. Dennis Mavin carried the scoring with 24 points on 10-17 shooting followed by a 13 point, eight board effort from Dominique Williams. Adrian Diaz added 12 points and ten rebounds with Daviyon Draper netting nine points.
The Owls are 5-2 ATS in their last 7 games following a S.U. loss and 5-2 ATS in their last 7 games following a ATS win. Florida Atlantic are 5-2 ATS in their last 7 road games vs. a team with a winning home record and 3-7 ATS in their last 10 road games. The Golden Panthers are 10-4 ATS in their last 14 home games vs. a team with a losing road record and 9-4 ATS in their last 13 home games vs. a team with a road winning % of less than .400. Florida International are 1-3-1 ATS in their last 5 games vs. a team with a losing S.U. record and 1-4 ATS in their last 5 home games. There are injuries here so no line has been released but FIU has some strong numbers in this match up...
