The New Mexico Lobos travel to Clune Arena to face the Air Force Falcons in Mountain West action.
The New Mexico Lobos are surviving in the Mountain West because they posess one of the stingiest defensive units in the game that gives up a mere 58 points which comes in to play quite often when scoring just 64 points. It has worked for the Lobos who are 4th in the conference at 6-3 following a 67-41 win versus struggling San Jose State. UNM took out all the mystery early with a 31-16 first half which esentially put this in the win column. The Lobs sank shots at 46% which looked white compared to the Spartans 25%. New Mexico received 15 points from Deshawn Delaney on 5-7 from the floor with Sam Logwood netting ten points on 4-7. Devon Williams and Hugh Greenwood combined for 17 points with Greenwood hauling in a team high seven rebounds.

I think it's a stretch to say the Air Force Falcons have a shot at finishing in the top four of the Mountain West with a 2-7 conference mark and a 9-12 overall record. Having said that, a solid finish to the season could mean a .500 record and a possible bid to the postseason somewhere. Unfortunately things haven't gone well for the Falcons who have dropped six of seven after a 74-63 loss at UNLV Saturday. The Rebels took a modest first half lead and didn't give it up despite just a 46%-44% shooting edge. The difference came at the charity stripe with 19 Falcons fouls turning in to a 17-7 Rebels advantage. Justin Hammonds gave the offense 15 points and six pulls but turned the ball over five times while Matt Mooney and Marek Olesinski added 21 points with Olesinski leading the team with eight rebounds.
The Lobos are 5-1 ATS in their last 6 games overall and 42-14-2 ATS in their last 58 Wednesday games. New Mexico are 46-16-1 ATS in their last 63 vs. Mountain West and 20-7 ATS in their last 27 games after allowing less than 50 points in their previous game. The Falcons are 1-4 ATS in their last 5 games following a S.U. loss and 1-4 ATS in their last 5 games following a ATS loss. Air Force are 1-5 ATS in their last 6 home games and 1-6 ATS in their last 7 games overall. I don't think Air Force is a complete walkover but I am going with the team that has more at stake...
