USA TODAY Sports

The Xavier Musketeers dropped to 14-8 (5-5 Big East) on the season after being defeated by the Seton Hall Pirates, 90-82, this past Wednesday. Xavier shot 51.7% from the field however, shot just 5.3% (1-19) from beyond the arc in the loss. Leading the way for the Musketeers was Jalen Reynolds who had 17 points and 8 rebounds. Xavier is ranked 25th in the RPI Standings and has played the 13th ranked SOS. On the season, the Musketeers have been led by Matt Stainbrook (12.7 ppg, 6.8 rpg, 2.4 apg) and Trevon Bluiett (12.5 ppg, 4.7 rpg, 2.0 apg). Offensively, Xavier is averaging 77.5 ppg (ranked 20th) on 49.0% shooting (ranked 13th). The Musketeers average 16.9 apg (ranked 11th) and commit 11.7 turnovers per game (ranked 67th). Defensively, Xavier is allowing their opponents to average 68.9 ppg (ranked 248th) on 43.8% shooting (ranked 230th). The Musketeers pull down 34.91 total rpg (ranked 161st) and have a rebound margin of 3.9 (ranked 61st).

The Bluejays are 3-8 ATS in their last 11 road games and just 3-10 ATS in their last 13 games overall. The Musketeers are 9-3 ATS in their last 12 home games vs. a team with a losing road record and 29-12 ATS in their last 41 home games.

Creighton has really struggled in the Big East this year and have had trouble scoring inside the three-point line. Xavier is undefeated at home this season and can really score the basketball. This is a tough one to call as Creighton has been up and down over the last month as they have played some teams tough away (Butler, Nebraska), however, have also been blown out a few times. I’m going to be staying away from this one but if I had to put anything on this one, I would probably takes the points as this is a big number for Xavier to cover. Take Creighton and the points.
