The Austin Peay Governors get their chance at slowing the Murray State Racers at the Dunn Center.
It looks like the Murray State Racers are completely rebuilt and ready for the postseason with 18 straight wins and a 20-4 record. Few teams can keep up with the Racers quick strike offense that averages almost 79 points and Southeast Missouri State found that out in an 82-72 road loss on Thursday. The Racers simply outgunned the visitors with 50% shooting doing plenty of damage while the Redhawks 43% accuracy couldn't keep up. Jarvis Williams was on fire with a contest high 23 points on 8-12 from the field while hauling in eleven rebounds. TJ Sapp wasn't far behind with 19 points followed by a 16 point, five assist effort from Cameron Payne. Jeffery Moss and Justin Seymour rounded out the top contributors with ten and eight points.

The Austin Peay Governors have been struggling at both ends of the floor which has led to defeats in eight of ten. Both trends continued in Thursday night's 76-64 loss to visiting Louisiana-Monroe as a four point home dog. The Warhawks hit shots at a 53% pace including 8-17 from distance while the Governors countered with 39% which was a difference of five field goals. The Governors had three players reach double figures in the scoring column with Josh Robinson leading the way with 15 points on 3-15 from the field. Chris Horton followed with a 14 point and nine rebound performance with Ed Tyson netting ten points. Jeremy Purvis chipped in with nine points on 3-3 from long range in 15 minutes of floortime but nobody else was able to score more then four points.
The Racers are 4-0 ATS in their last 4 road games following three or more consecutive home games and 3-0-1 ATS in their last 4 road games vs. a team with a losing home record. Murray State are 6-1-1 ATS in their last 8 road games and 3-1-2 ATS in their last 6 games vs. a team with a winning % below .400. The Governors are 6-2 ATS in their last 8 games following a double-digit loss at home and 3-10 ATS in their last 13 games overall. Austin Peay are 2-7 ATS in their last 9 games following a S.U. loss and 1-6 ATS in their last 7 games following a ATS loss. The Racers were a cover machine but not so much the past few weeks so it seems they are doing enough to win but not pressing the issue so use caution...
