The Central Michigan Chippewas face instate and conference rival the Western Michigan Broncos.
The Western Michigan Broncos were viewed as one of the top teams in the MAC until dropping three in a row. The Broncos broke their slide with a 67-66 victory versus visiting Kent State on Wednesday but the question is whether they can build on that win or is there deeper issues. On paper WMU hit half their looks with the Zips connecting at 40.7% but Akron held a 13-6 advantage from long range to keep things close. Tucker Haymond gave the Broncos 17 points on 8-11 accuracy while Connar Tava and David Brown dropped 16 points apiece. Kellen McCormick chipped in with eight points while Thomas Wilder and Taylor Perry provided some muscle on the glass with a combined 15 rbounds.
