The Temple Owls take their winning ways on the road when they visit the Memphis Tigers in AAC action.
The Temple Owls have suddenly gotten hot with their defense first style getting the job done with four straight victories to show for their efforts. The Owls defense was at it's best in a 61-48 win at South Florida with a 38-24 second half busting open a tight game. Neither team shot the ball well in the 35%-36% range but the difference was the Owls hit a few more baskets, threes and free throws with the combination adding up to a double digit win. Will Cummings was the only player to score in double figures with a game high 19 points with Jesse Morgan tossing in nine points. Josh Brown and Quenton DeCosey followed with eight points apiece with DeCosey snagging eight boards while Jaylen Bond provided some muscle on the backboards with nine rebounds.

Even though the Memphis Tigers lost some key talent from a year ago the team still has competitive scoring and an above average defense with both coming together to have the team challenging for a top four spot in the AAC. The Tigers have won three of four after dominating Jacksonville State 74-48 as they took a ten point lead after 20 minutes and kept their foot on the gas until the final buzzer. The Gamecocks were limited to less then 33% from the floor while Memphis sank shots at 49% which equaled 14 more baskets. Shaq Goodwin paced five double digit scorers with a game high 16 points and seven pulls with Trashon Burrell tossing in 13 points. Austin Nichols followed with 12 points while Kedren Johnson and Nick King chipped in with ten points each.
The Owls are 4-0 ATS in their last 4 games overall and 4-0 ATS in their last 4 vs. American Athletic Conference. Temple are 5-1 ATS in their last 6 road games and are 4-1 ATS in their last 5 games following a S.U. win. The Owls are 4-0 ATS in their last 4 games overall. The Tigers are 8-2 ATS in their last 10 home games vs. a team with a winning road record and 7-2 ATS in their last 9 games following a SU win of more than 20 points. Memphis are 6-2 ATS in their last 8 home games and 6-2 ATS in their last 8 games after allowing less than 50 points in their previous game. I see this as a coin flip but I'm a Temple fan...
