The Manhattan Jaspers look to stay hot when they visit Alumni Gymnasium to tangle with the Rider Broncs.
The Manhattan Jaspers had me scratching my head at times early on but they are playing as well as anybody with a four game winning streak which has the team staring at third in the conference with plenty of time to move up. The Jaspers strength in MAAC play has been their ability to put the ball in the basket and that's exactly what happened in a 78-69 victory versus visiting Canisius on Friday night. The defense was none too shabby with the Golden Griffins limited to 31% from the floor while the home team it at 44% to log four more baskets. Emmy Andujar paced the attack with 20 points, seven boards and nine helpers followed by an 18 point, nine rebound effort from Ashton Pankey. Shane Richards and Rich Williams added 16 points apiece with Richards grabbing seven boards.

The Rider Broncs have maintained second in the MAAC with wins in three of four although nothing has been easy for this squad with several close contests that have ended up in the win column. None were any closer then their 54-52 overtime decision against struggling Fairfield as a nine point home favorite. The Broncs appeared to be heading for an easy win with a 20-13 lead after 20 minutes but both teams never found the shooting touch with 33% shooting with the Stags sinking seven more threes while the Boncs nailed seven more free throws. Rider received 20 points and a whopping 19 rebounds from Matt Lopez followed by Teddy Okereafor and Khalil Alford netted eleven points each with Alford posting five boards.
The Jaspers are 4-0 ATS in their last 4 games overall and 4-0 ATS in their last 4 vs. Metro Atlantic Athletic. Manhattan are 4-1 ATS in their last 5 games following a S.U. win and 6-2 ATS in their last 8 games vs. a team with a winning S.U. record. The Broncs are 4-9 ATS in their last 13 games vs. a team with a winning S.U. record and 5-12-1 ATS in their last 18 home games. Rider are 2-10-1 ATS in their last 13 home games vs. a team with a losing road record and 1-9-1 ATS in their last 11 home games vs. a team with a road winning % of less than .400. Manhattan is playing well and Rider has hit a bump in the road so I'll take the points...
