The New Mexico Lobos jockey for position with the Colorado State Rams at Moby Arena Tuesday.
The defensive minded New Mexico Lobos are defending well enough to win but they haven't been lately with losses in three of four with a struggling offense the source of the problems. The Lobos fell to visiting Utah State 63-60 on Saturday as a 7.5 point favorite. USU had a 47%-43% shooting edge with four more long balls with New Mexico hurting themselves with a 3-15 effort from beyond the arc. Obij Aget was the lone player to crack double figures in scoring with ten points and eleven rebounds followed by Sam Logwood with nine points. JJ N'Ganga, Jordan Goodman and Hugh Greenwood each scored eight points with Greenwood snaring seven boards while Devon Williams and Deshawn Delaney chipped in with seven points.

The Colorado State Rams are an outstanding 20-4 on the season but are just third in the Mountain West which says just how top heavy this conference is. The Rams are strong at both ends of the floor but it was their offense that saved the day in Saturday's 83-82 victory against visiting UNLV. Both squads sank shots at around 47% and combined for 20 long balls but struggled to a combined 21-37 at the charity stripe so poor foul shooting was costly for the Rebels in a one point contest. Stanton Kidd led a balanced offense with 19 points and six pulls with Daniel Bejarano right on his heels with 18 points and nine rebounds. JJ Avila did a little of everything with 15 points, eleven boards and seven assists followed by Gian Clavell and John Gillon combining for 19 points.
The Lobos are 20-7 ATS in their last 27 games following a S.U. loss and 8-3 ATS in their last 11 games following a ATS loss. New Mexico are 46-18-1 ATS in their last 65 vs. Mountain West and 35-16-1 ATS in their last 52 road games vs. a team with a home winning % of greater than .600. Rams are 6-13 ATS in their last 19 vs. Mountain West and 17-37-2 ATS in their last 56 games vs. a team with a winning S.U. record. Colorado State are 10-22-2 ATS in their last 34 home games and 17-38-2 ATS in their last 57 games overall. If the Lobos can control the pace they have a chance to cover and if the Rams control it they win easily...
