Hagan Arena and the St Joseph's Hawks await a visit from the red hot Rhode Island Rams in A-10 action.
The Rhode Island Rams have burst on to the scene in both the Atlantic Ten and nationally as I'm sure there are many eyes on them outside of the conference. The 16-5 Rams are second in the league and have the opportunity to capture first or fall out of the top four so there is no room for error. The streaking Rams have won five in a row after upending Richmond 79-74 on the road Sunday. URI won the shooting battle 49%-45% and the glass 42-28 but 18 giveaways kept the game closer then it should have been. EC Matthews led the scoring spree with 26 points and five yanks with Hassan Martin supplying some muscle with 16 points and 16 rebounds. TJ Buchanan added 15 points and five pulls while Jarvis Garrett chipped in with nine points.

The St Joseph's Hawks loss of talent from a year ago is reflected in their 10-12 record although this team has been remakably competitive with close wins and defeats mixed in. The Hawks have a shot at a postseason tournament but they need to string the wins together and Saturday's 58-54 victory against George Mason was a good start. The Hawks defense served them well with the Patriots held to 41% accuracy and forced in to 19 turnovers. St Joes responded with 45.5% marksmanship with a 16-6 edge at the line proving to be decisive. DeAndre Bembry led a balanced attack with 14 points and eleven rebounds with Aaron Brown posting eleven points. The duo of Chris Wilson and Jai Williams scored eight points each with four others combining for 17 points.
The Rams are 7-3 ATS in their last 10 road games vs. a team with a winning home record and 11-5 ATS in their last 16 road games vs. a team with a home winning % of greater than .600. Rhode Island are 2-5 ATS in their last 7 games following a S.U. win and 2-6 ATS in their last 8 games vs. a team with a losing S.U. record. The Hawks are 4-0 ATS in their last 4 home games vs. a team with a road winning % of greater than .600 and 4-0 ATS in their last 4 home games vs. a team with a winning road record. St Joseph's are 5-1 ATS in their last 6 home games and 4-1-1 ATS in their last 6 games following a ATS loss. The Hawks play well at home so I think they have a shot but I'm going with a goor Rams squad...
