The Gonzaga Bulldogs will be hosting the Loyola Marymount Lions on Thursday night at the McCarthey Athletic Center.
The Gonzaga Bulldogs are having a pretty good season I’d say, having a record of 24-1 overall on the year and ranking second in the nation. The Bulldogs are outstanding offensively as Gonzaga is putting up an average of 80.7 points per game this season, giving them a top ten offense. The Zags are solid across the board, but their shooting percentage is tops in the nation, hovering just below the 54 percent mark on the year. Gonzaga has won 17 in a row, with their last loss coming back on December 6 of 2014.

The Loyola Marymount Lions are sitting at 8-17 this season, and currently the Lions are in 8th place in the West Coast Conference. The Lions aren’t particularly strong at any one aspect, as the Lions are shooting just below 44 percent for the year, and are scoring an average of 64.1 points per game. The Lions have won three out of their last five heading into this meeting with the Bulldogs, but in their last outing the Lions fell to BYU 87-68.
The Lions are currently 13-11 against the spread this season, while the Bulldogs are 11-9-2 against the number this season. The Lions have been a solid road play this season, going 7-3 ATS away from home, while the Bulldogs are equally as impressive at home, going 7-2 against the spread.
I have to take Loyola here. The Bulldogs are perhaps the best team in the nation, and nobody will make that statement about the Lions for sure. That being the case, these two teams know each other well, and earlier this season the Lions kept it under 20 at home to the Bulldogs. Obviously the Zags are very tough at home, but I can’t see laying this big number with Gonzaga here.
