The Santa Barbara Gauchos seem to always be a contender in the Big West and even though they currently sit in the 4th spot with a 4-4 conference mark they do seem to be a bit inconsistent as the scoring and defense can't get on the same page to string the wins together. The Gauchos avoided a three game slide with a 75-74 win over visiting Hawaii in a game they didn't lead in the game until late. The game was a bit on the sloppy side with a combined 34 turnovers with UCSB hitting shots at 51% including a 9-18 from beyond the arc while the Warriors connected at 44% with eight more makes at the charity stripe keeping things close. Michael Bryson led all scorers with 21 points, five yanks and five helpers while Gabe Vincent and John Green netted eleven points apiece. Eric Childress and Zalmico Harmon rounded out the top conttributors with ten and seven points.
The 49ers are 2-5 ATS in their last 7 road games and 1-4 ATS in their last 5 games overall. Long Beach State are 1-4 ATS in their last 5 vs. Big West and 0-7 ATS in their last 7 road games following three or more consecutive home games. The Gauchos are 1-4 ATS in their last 5 games following a ATS loss and 1-4 ATS in their last 5 home games. Santa Barbara are 1-4 ATS in their last 5 games vs. a team with a winning S.U. record and 1-5 ATS in their last 6 home games vs. a team with a road winning % of less than .400.
