The Belmont Bruins look to avert the season sweep at the hands of the Morehead State Eagles on Saturday.
The Morehead State Eagles appeared to be cruising with wins in five of six with a clear shot at the Ohio Valley East title in their sights but a 69-57 defeat at Eastern Kentucky ended the good times. This was a season sweep by the Colonels who led by four at the half before breaking a late second half tie to win rather easily in the end. EKY fired away at 51% while Morehead State conected at 42.5% and turned the ball over 20 times. Karam Mashour led three double figure scorers with 16 points and six pulls with Angelo Warner netting 13 points. Miguel Dicent score 12 points but options were limited outside of the top three.

This looks like an 'off' season for the Belmont Bruins who currently occupy second in the East Division of the OVC. The Bruins began the past week in first but have since dropped three in a row after a 72-70 defeat at Jacksonville State on Wednesday as a 7.5 point favorite. The Gamecocks were up eleven at the break and barely survived a strong Bruins rally with nearly 47% marksmanship being competitive with the Bruins 54% accuracy that was partially negated by 16 giveaways. Evan Bradds carried the Belmont offense with a contest high 24 points and nine rebounds on deadly 11-13 shooting. Craig Bradshaw followed with 15 points while Reece Chamberlain netted ten points and handed out ten helpers.
The Eagles are 5-1-1 ATS in their last 7 games following a ATS loss and 11-28-1 ATS in their last 40 vs. Ohio Valley. Morehead State are 0-5-1 ATS in their last 6 Saturday games and 0-3-1 ATS in their last 4 games overall. The Bruins are 2-5-1 ATS in their last 8 games vs. a team with a losing S.U. record and 2-6 ATS in their last 8 home games. Belmont are 3-14-1 ATS in their last 18 games overall and 2-10-1 ATS in their last 13 vs. Ohio Valley. I have watched both teams and don't like what I've seen andthis looks like a blowout or a close one...
