The Charleston Cougars take the hardwood against the Towson Tigers at TD Arena in Sunday action.
The Towson Tigers appeared to be catching fire a few weeks ago with wins in three of four but the hot streak but have since dropped three in a row to stand 8th in the Colonial at 4-9. Putting points on the board has been an issue and that trend continued in a 53-49 defeat at Drexel with the Dragons leading 29-17 after 20 minutes. The Tigers never found the shooting touch at 31% which squandered 15 more looks fashioned on 20 offensive rebounds which made the Dragons 41% shooting a winning effort. Four McGlynn was the Cougars only double digit scorer with 14 points with AJ Astroth, Timajh Parker-Rivera and Walter Parker scoring seven points apiece and combining for 17 boards. John Davis scored six points and hauled in a game high 12 rebounds but ponts were scarce.

If you want to know why the Charleston Cougars are just 7-19 look no further then the offense which averages 59 points and is the reason for a 2-9 mark in the CAA and their current living area in the basement. CofC could use a few wins heading towards the conference postseason to gain some momentum and perhaps pull an upset or two but the team has lost back to back contests after falling to North Carolina-Wilmington 58-45 where a six point lead crumbled under a Seahawks 34-15 second half run. UNCW did nothing special with 39% shooting but that was golden compared to the Cougars 27.8% accuracy with the home team also sinking eleven more free throws. Joe Chealey and Canyon Barry paced the attack with 12 and eleven points with five yanks each followed by an eight point, ten rebound effort from Adjehi Baru.
