The Rider Broncs look to stay hot when they visit the Gallagher Center to face the Niagara Purple Eagles.
The Rider Broncs don't always put up the big numbers and pound opponents in to submission but they have proven to be a steady winner with an 11-4 record that is good for second in the MAAC behind Iona. They certainly didn't pound Canisius in a 60-59 victory on Friday but it was their third consecutive win as they rallied from an eight point deficit behind 50% shooting including a 9-16 effort on three pointers. The Golden Griffins connected at almost 48% with a 5-17 mark from distance costing them a win. Teddy Okereafor paced the Broncs with 15 points and eight assists on 5-8 from the floor with Jimmie Taylor tossing in 13 points. Matt Lopez and Zedic Saddler added seven points apiece with Lopez grabbing a game high eight rebounds.

Wins have been far and few between for the Niagara Purple Eagles as they have played well in spurts but have not been able to get complete 40 minute performances. We saw that trend continue in a 77-65 loss at the hands of visiting Saint Peter's where the Purple Eagles jumped to a 12 point lead at the intermission before the Peacocks roared back on the strength of a 50-26 run over the final 20 minutes. Ath the final buzzer Niagara hit shots at around 41% while SPC countered with 54% accuracy and a 25-18 advantage at the charity stripe. Dominique Reid gave the offense 18 points and six boards followed by Wesley Myers and Emile Blackman with a combined 21 points. Matt Scott and Karonn Davis added seven and six points with the rest of the team scoring 13 points.
The Broncs are 6-1 ATS in their last 7 road games and 20-6-1 ATS in their last 27 road games vs. a team with a losing home record. Rider are 19-6-1 ATS in their last 26 road games vs. a team with a home winning % of less than .400 and 5-2 ATS in their last 7 games vs. a team with a winning % below .400. The Purple Eagles are 5-0 ATS in their last 5 home games vs. a team with a winning road record and 2-5 ATS in their last 7 home games. Niagara are 2-5 ATS in their last 7 games vs. a team with a winning % above .600 and 2-5 ATS in their last 7 games vs. a team with a winning S.U. record. Rider is gunning for the MAAC title but do play some close games so this is no slam dunk...
