The Houston Cougars complete a road swing through the Sunshine State with a stop to face the South Florida Bulls.
The Houston Cougars might be in the middle of the pack of the AAC if their offense could reach the mid 60's but that hasn't been the case which has the team staring at next to last in the conference. The scoring woes continued in a 56-54 defeat at Central Florida Sunday as a 2.5 point underdog for loss number three in a row. The Bulls sank shots at around 49% with UH hitting at 43% but a 1-5 mark at the foul line was a killer especially with leading scorer Jherrod Stiggers out. Devonta Pollard was the top producer with 14 points and seven boards with LeRon Barnes netting 12 points. JC Washington and LJ Rose added eight points each with Rose handing out eight assists. The entire seven man rotation scored but Stiggers was missed.

The numbers speak volumes for the South Florida who are last in the AAC with a 1-10 record with a lack of scoring punch being the biggest issue. Neither end of the floor were able to come up big in a 75-48 loss at the hands of visiting Memphis on Saturday. The Tigers took a ten point lead in to the second half and never took their foot off the gas. Memphis did their damage on 45.8% shooting while USF couldn't find their shot with 37% accuracy that was made worse with 19 turnovers an 0-7 effort from beyond the arc. Ruben Guerrero was the top option on offense with 17 points and six pulls on 7-10 from the field while Bo Zeigler netted ten points and blocked six shots. Troy Holston Jr. and Corey Allen Jr. combined for 15 points and 13 rebounds with six points coming from the rest of the team.
The Cougars are 4-1 ATS in their last 5 games following a S.U. loss and 4-1 ATS in their last 5 games overall. Houston are 5-2-1 ATS in their last 8 games vs. a team with a losing S.U. record and 4-9 ATS in their last 13 vs. American Athletic Conference. The Bulls are 4-0 ATS in their last 4 games after scoring less than 50 points in their previous game and 4-1 ATS in their last 5 games following a SU loss of more than 20 points. South Florida are 16-34-1 ATS in their last 51 home games and 5-11 ATS in their last 16 games following a ATS loss. I know Houston is not a wonderful bet on the road but I think they win this...
