The George Mason Patriots lock horns with the Fordham Rams at the Patriot Center in Atlantic Ten action.
The Fordham Rams have come up short at both ends of the floor in 2014-15 and the end result is last in the Atlantic Ten. The Rams have played some close ones but the bottom line is there has not been enough scoring and too much scoring done done by opponents. The Rams have been playing well as of late with wins in two of three after downing St. Joseph's 69-55 on Sunday. It was a rare display of shutdown defense with the Hawks held to just 34.5% shooting while sinking shots at 48% including an 8-16 from beyond the arc with a +14 on the backboards. Mandell Thomas tossed in a game high 20 points with six helpers with Christian Sengfelder adding 15 points and nine boards. Brian Smith and Eric Pashall scored 12 and 10 points with Ryan Rhoomes hauling in a game high 12 rebounds.

The George Mason Patriots are similar to their counterparts in that neither the scoring or defense has been strong enough to win consistently. George Mason is fighting to avoid last in the conference and took a strp in that direction with a 71-67 overtime win versus visiting Richmond on Saturday. The Patriots defense performed well with the Spiders limited to 39% marksmanship but 16 turnovers kept the visitors competitive with 14 more looks at the basket. The Patriots hit at almost 45% but turned 24 personals in to a 23-9 advantage at the charity stripe which was decisive. Shevon Thompson and Jalen Jenkins netted 15 points apiece with Thompson snagging 14 rebounds followed by a 13 point effort from Patrick Holloway. Marquise Moore and Isaiah Jackson added eleven points each as the offense sprang to life in OT.
The Rams are 4-0 ATS in their last 4 games overall and 4-0 ATS in their last 4 vs. Atlantic 10. Fordham are 6-1 ATS in their last 7 Wednesday games and 7-2 ATS in their last 9 games vs. a team with a winning % below .400. The Patriots are 3-1-1 ATS in their last 5 games vs. a team with a losing S.U. record and 19-42 ATS in their last 61 games following a S.U. win. George Mason are 3-8-1 ATS in their last 12 home games vs. a team with a losing road record and 3-12-1 ATS in their last 16 home games vs. a team with a road winning % of less than .400.
