The Northeastern Huskies look to knock the William & Mary Tribe out of first in the Colonial Wednesday.
The William & Mary Tribe are in the driver's seat of of the Colonial with a 10-4 record having them at the top of the conference. The Tribe have done plenty of winning but haven't always looked good doing it and the losses have been awful as in getting swept by Delaware? The Tribe fell to the visiting Blue Hens 73-70 on Saturday as the visitors stormed to a 15 point lead at the half before a late come back ran out of time. The difference was the Hens 51%-41% shooting advantage and a 9-22 effort on threes. The Tribe offense was a two man show with Marcus Thornton and Omar Prewitt tossing in 27 and 25 points followed by Terry Tarpey with nine points and and eight rebounds. The problem was the rest of the team mustered just nine points.

The Northeastern Huskies were considered a top threat to the CAA crown and they lived up to the billing at 9-5 for third but just a game out of first behind William & Mary and North Carolina-Wilmington. The Huskies had an opportunity to tie foer the league lead with a road win versus the Seahawks but instead dropped a 66-61 decision as the offense didn't shoot the ball well at less then 41%. UNCW countered with 49% accuracy with Northeastern keeping things close with more free throws although 15 turnovers hurt their chances at winning. The Huskies received a game high 23 points and eight rebounds from Scott Eatherton on 8-13 from the field while David Walker added eleven points, five yanks and five assists. Quincy Ford and Zach Stahl netted seven points apiece and combined for nine boards but consistent shooting was an issue.
